FRACTURES is Rob Fenn, a freelance computer games musician based in the UK.
Brought up on a diet of C64 gaming splendidness, influences range from the likes of early game musicians Rob Hubbard, Martin Galway and Richard Joseph to modern day composers such as Nobuyoshi Sano and Rom Di Prisco.
Liaising closely with the developer throughout the project, FRACTURES offer a personal, one-to-one complete music and sound effects service to ensure the audio for your development is the best it could possibly be.
Take a look around and get in touch...it’d be great to hear from you.
Just completed the music for About Fun Games’ super-addictive forthcoming title Mega Dead Pixel. Here’s the first trailer.
Dédale is in Bundle In A Box’s ‘Cerebral Bundle’ this month. The in-game music I created is one of the unlockable items available too (which is nice) http://bundle-in-a-box.com
Just completed sound effects work for Fallen Tree Games’ next instalment in their critically acclaimed Quell series - ‘Quell Memento’.
I used various ‘found sound’ sources to create the ‘organic’ feel they wanted for the overall sound in the game. The above image shows a few of those sources I recorded.
Nightmerica had its release today on iOS. Here’s another gameplay trailer.
I’ve released the soundtrack here where you can hear it in full.
Here’s a work in progress video of a game called Nightmerica by Voltic Games which I’m currently composing music and creating the sound effects for.
I love the frantic, messy, super-retro action they’ve got going…..as the fox in Lars Von Trier’s Antichrist says, “chaos reigns”.
I’ve composed the trailer music for Mladen Bošnjak’s game ‘Tainted Fate’ - “a horror adventure game played with two protagonists with original gameplay features. Played in first person, features an inventory system, dynamic conversations, two timelines (1940’s and 2012), latest graphics technology, an engaging story that changes depending on your decisions…”
With the atmosphere cranked up to the max, it’s an expanded, fully developed piece of my ‘First Person Horror’ track in my demo reel - more sounds added and more progression, along with an unhealthy amount of dread :)
Here’s a rough music+sound effects test video I made for the enigmatically named (and massively talented) Frank Force.
The game is called Faster Blaster, and it’s a beautiful thing.
Just completed a couple of pieces for Ryan Rothweiler’s charming, experimental little indie game intriguingly named ‘Library Pancake History - An Indie Adventure’. It’s free to play on Game Jolt.
You can hear the two compositions here
I made the sound effects for this great little word puzzle game on iOS by Radial Games (other platforms coming soon)
I recently completed the in-game music for Sergey Mohov’s Dédale. I became involved with this project very close to release, and had a little over a week, to produce three in-game pieces of music for this beautiful looking, relaxing puzzler.
REVIEWS:
“a calming soundtrack that enhances the tranquil feeling of the game” - 148apps
“Each level is accompanied by gentle, ambient backing tracks by Fractures. Each move you make plinks out a piano note. Between these things, the butterfly, and the pretty colors, Dédale is downright meditative at times.” - TouchArcade
“A relaxing, meditative puzzler with beautiful music and visuals.” - appmyworld
